Meminder
2014
Not all patients take their pills according to
their doctors’ prescription. Sometimes willingly and
knowingly, but usually this is unintentional. When taken
incorrectly, drugs have less effect, the life expectancy
of patients decrease and health care costs rise.
According to the the World Health Organization, therapy noncompliance is the largest problem in healthcare.
Each year an estimated 125,000 people die from improper use of medication and the financial damage is estimated at $ 300 billion annually.
The Meminder is a patented system to remind patients when to take their medication.
At the AMC Expert Meeting this idea won the Pontes Medical Best Company Pitch Award 2014 and the plan reached the top 10 of the NewVenture business plan contest 2014 in the category MedTech.
